Science in the Citadel, Gozo’s own science festival, will take place on Saturday between 10am and 6pm within the historic walls of the Citadel in Victoria.

It is a free one-day festival that celebrates the best of science and technology innovation, research and practice on the Maltese Islands, with exhibitions relevant to Gozo’s biodiversity, geology, agriculture, seas and skies.

There will be activities for all ages, from the popular Science Fair, which this year sees the ditch divided into special interest zones, to an impressive series of adult talks easy to access all day long in a Speakers’ Corner tent in Cathedral Square. In between, there will be workshops, exhibitions and shows incorporating puppetry, comedy, dance and magic.

For those who might want to take an interest beyond the Citadel walls, there will be the Careers Lab and Zone, where one finds what it’s like to use science and technology daily in a range of interesting jobs and meet the scientists.
