The popular Belgian dance act Ian Van Dahl are to display their talents in a performance on the first night of the Song for Europe Festival on February 7.

Maltasong chairman Charlò Bonnici said the audience for the festival's first night were in for an unforgettable experience with Ian Van Dahl's show and performances by local artistes.

Ian Van Dahl, who last year received an award at the UK Dancestar awards as best dance and trance act, are probably best known for their single Castles In The Sky.

Mr Bonnici said Winter Moods will be launching a new album on the night, while Corkskrew will be showing their new video, and Fabrizio Faniello and Kristina Casolani will seduce guests with their new singles.

On the second night, February 8, Ira Losco will be performing, while last year's winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, Marie N, is expected to rock the stage with her show.

The festival has this year shifted to Ta' Qali from the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

Tickets for the first night start from Lm4. Block tickets for the two nights are also available for Lm8 or Lm12.

The marquee can take up to 4,000 people compared with the 1,200-capacity of the MCC.

The marquee is located between Meridiana Wine Estate and the Ta' Qali picnic area.

The festival will be presented by popular television presenters Gianni Zammit and Mireille Bonello.
