The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Thursday. 

Times of Malta leads with President Joe Biden's inauguration, in what was described as a day of hope in the United States. The newspaper also reports how the prime minister tabled a report in parliament on the house collapse that caused the death of Miriam Pace. He pledged to stop ‘construction cowboys’. 

The Malta Independent leads with the reshuffle of the Opposition front bench, saying Adrian Delia continued to refuse a role. It also reports on a university study showing that ALS in Maltese patients affects different genes than on patients in mainland Europe. 

In-Nazzjon also leads with the reshuffle of the shadow cabinet, describing it as a renewal of the PN parliamentary group. It also reports that the government did not procure electricity at the lowest possible price, despite telling the EU otherwise. 

L-orizzont says Bernard Grech gave in to pressure by 'rebel MPs' in his shadow cabinet picks. It also reports that the residents of St Vincent de Paul Home have taken their first virus jab.
