Salwa Ayachi Labben, Minister for Women, the Family, Children and the Elderly of Tunisia, arrived on Sunday night for a four-day official visit.

Mrs Labben is accompanied by her official delegation as well as by two Tunisian members of the Tunisian-Maltese Mixed Committee on the collaboration agreement signed by Tunisia and Malta in June 2005. This agreement, ratified by Malta in November 2005 and by Tunisia in December 2005, strengthens collaboration in the fields of the advancement of women, children, and the family.

Yesterday Mrs Labben met Dolores Cristina, Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anton Tabone and visited the Access Community Resource Centre in Vittoriosa.

During her visit Mrs Labben will call on President Eddie Fenech Adami, Giovanna Debono, Minister for Gozo, Michael Frendo, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Helen D'Amato, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Health, the Elderly and Community Care and Sonia Camilleri, Commissioner for Children.

Mrs Labben will also visit the Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala, the Mtarfa Residential Home for the Elderly and the Mtarfa Day Centre for the Elderly.
