I read the article ‘Gozitans should decide’ by Emanuel Galea (February 8).

While largely in agreement with the substance of the article and fully sympathising with the relative hardships our Gozitan brothers and sisters have to suffer as inhabitants of a region of the same one nation, I would point out that a tunnel must perforce have two openings.

In the case of the planned Gozo tunnel, they are going to seriously impact, if not destroy, the beautiful countryside where the tunnel is planned to emerge. One of the openings is on the island of Malta.

On another point, the correspondent is described as an “analytical thinker”. Could someone give me a precise definition of this? I would think we all analyse our thinking in one way or another.
