An urgent call for blood donations has been issued by the National Transfusion Service.

The Service said on its Facebook page reserve was low and urged people to immediately donate blood as a Christmas gift to patients waiting for transfusions.

The Blood Donation Centre, located just outside St Luke’s Hospital in Guardamangia is open until 6pm

Donors should take with them their ID card, driving licence or Maltese passport.
