Not far from Reunion, the French island in the Indian Ocean, lies the Seamount La Pérouse, a dramatic mountain under the waves that rises from 5,000 meters below sea level to within 50 metres of the surface at its summit. A special scientific expedition explores this underwater mountain which could harbour exceptional biodiversity.
