A video released by Enemalta shows the dismantlement of the Marsa power station chimney, deemed for many years as a polluting eyesore.

Works on the chimney dismantlement started last year and were completed by the end of 2015. The video includes a time-lapse sequence captured during the dismantling works, from beginning to end. The video was published on Enemalta's YouTube page.

The power station was closed in March 2015, with electricity now sourced from Delimara and the interconnector.

Initial works on dismantling the Marsa power station started in October 2014.

Enemalta has also started the process to demolish the oldest part of the Delimara power station.
