The Malta Basketball Association have decided to increase the foreigners' quota for its senior competitions to three overseas players after an agreement was reached by the governing body's Council last week.

At present, local basketball teams can field one overseas player and one local foreigner.

The decision is likely to spark a lot of discussion among basketball enthusiasts and timesofmalta.com spoke with MBA president Paul Sultana who gave us the reason behind this new ruling which will come into effect as from season 2018-19.
