A powerful landslide in northern Norway has swept away several houses into the sea, foreign media reported.

The slide, in the municipality of Alta, was 650 metres wide and 150 metres deep. It destroyed eight buildings, including four cabins used in the weekends.

No one was injured and all people were evacuated.
