A high wire stuntman spent eight hours sitting in a chair balanced on a tightrope in Switzerland to set a new Guinness World Record.

Guinness confirmed Freddy Nock earned the record for longest duration chair balancing on a tightrope when he balanced in the seat for 8 hours, 30 minutes and 55 seconds at the Mall of Switzerland in Ebikon.

Throughout this unique attempt, which had spectators aghast, Freddy slipped his chair forward 30 m (98ft) without leaving the tightrope to reach the other side of the mall.

This isn't Freddy's first Guinness World Records title set on a tightrope.

In August 2015 he set a new record for the steepest tightrope walked on with an angle of 38.06 degrees.
