Alison Galea Valletta of Attard was recently awarded the licentiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photography in the UK, becoming the youngest local photographer to receive this qualification at the age of 20.

The distinction is awarded to photographers who portray good camera technique, control of lighting and a sense of communication with the models, in this case newlyweds.

She has been associated with the art of photography through her father Gino Galea and also through modelling - being a successful model herself.

Ms Galea Valletta is currently in her final year at the University of Malta where she is reading in Information Technology.
