TimesTalk on Tuesday discussed how the typical Maltese streetscape in many localities is losing its character as apartment blocks are built instead of old houses.

The damage is irreversible in many localities. So why are certain NGOs and experts insisting on restoring old house facades at any cost? What real value remains when the general street outlook has already been radically changed?

The programme's guests were architect Michael Falzon from the Malta Developers' Association, Joe Magro Conti, who heads the Heritage Planning Unit at the Planning Authority, and architect Edward Said.

Watch a repeat of the programme above.
