Double Trap Shooter William Chetcuti has won gold in Beijing, China at the ISSF World Cup.

The competition was held over three rounds Double Trap of 50 clays each.

Chetcuti managed 46,46,49 and 44 in the barrage finals to win the first ever gold medal with 185/200

Sodhi Ronjan from India won silver with 183/200 and Li Jun from China won bronze with 182/200.

This was the best ever result in Shooting sport for Malta.

The victory means Chetcuti has also qualified automatically for next year's Olympic Games in London.
