A 66-year-old woman is fighting for her life after falling one storey down a shaft.

The police said the accident happened in Triq ir-Ramla, Nadur, at around 11.15am.

A medical team assisted the woman on site before transferring her to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.

An inquiry is being held.

The police are investigating.
