A 61-year-old woman was grievously injured in Pietà after being hit by a car. 

The police said the incident took place at midnight on Triq ix-Xatt.

The woman, from St Julian's, was hit by a Peugeot car driven by a 53-year-old man from Valletta.

Investigations are ongoing.
