A worker had a lucky escape yesterday afternoon when the roof of an old house in Attard caved in.

The worker, 48, from San Gwann, escaped with only slight injuries.

The police said the incident occurred at about 2.30 p.m. in Qormi Street during restoration works. For some reason the roof caved in but the worker escaped serious injury.

An ambulance took the worker to Mater Dei Hospital where he was treated for slight injuries.

The police are investigating.
