The Broadcasting Authority said it has considered a complaint by its chief executive against the Public Broadcasting Services Ltd in regard to the programme Xarabank broadcast on November 7 last year and found that part of the programme offended good taste and decency.

The programme was found to be in breach of article 13 (2) (a) of the Broadcasting Act.

However, considering the programme's generally positive tone, the BA said it considered it unnecessary to impose financial penalties. It was enough for PBS to be warned to avoid such "unfortunate incidents", it said.

It invited PBS to rapidly introduce effective preventive measures of self-regulation.
