President George Abela said today that the code of ethics should be 'the bible' of the judiciary.

He made his comment during the swearing in of new Judge Edwina Grima, who was previously a Magistrate, and new Magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri.

Dr Abela said if was very important to strengthen the people's confidence in the judiciary. The members of the judiciary should observe the written code of ethics, but also the unwritten code, their conscience.

It was also important that justice was administered efficiently and humanely.
