33rd edition of annual publication celebrates Sannat's parish life
The Gozitan parish is celebrating its titular feast of St Margaret this week
The latest edition of St Margaret V.M., the annual publication marking Sannat’s titular feast, has been released ahead of the village’s celebrations in honour of St Margaret, which culminate on Sunday.
Now in its 33rd edition, the 136-page publication offers readers a rich insight into the spiritual, pastoral, cultural and social life of the parish.
Produced through the dedication and hard work of a committed editorial team and contributors, the magazine has become an important annual record of the life and traditions of the Sannat community.
The publication opens with messages from archpriest Fr Michael Curmi and Sannat mayor Philip Vella, both highlighting the importance of the feast as an occasion that strengthens faith, unity and community spirit.
Among the contributors is Victor Grima, the technician behind Radio Margerita, whose work has helped establish the parish radio station as an essential means of communication and outreach within the community.
Charles A. Gauci, president of the St Margaret Band Club, also shares his reflections, while Maria Buttigieg writes about the invaluable work carried out by the parish Caritas. She describes Caritas not simply as a service to those in need, but as a vocation − a call to become an instrument of love, hope and Christian charity.
Mary Grace Xerri commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Sannat Dramatic Group, celebrating five decades of artistic commitment and cultural contribution to village life.
The sporting achievements of the community are represented through an article by Sannat Lions FC secretary Pierre Said, who looks back on a memorable season. Although demanding and filled with challenges, the campaign proved highly successful, bringing major achievements and immense satisfaction to the club.
The publication also features a heartfelt message from Ġuża Teuma, president of the Sannat community in Melbourne, Australia. On behalf of the St Margaret Club Committee, she conveys warm greetings and best wishes to all Sannatin, expressing the hope that this year’s feast will be celebrated in an atmosphere of faith, peace, joy and unity.
The publication is richly illustrated with an extensive collection of full-colour photographs.
