Almost 450kg of waste collected in Marsaxlokk clean-up

25-person team of volunteers cleans the area around Torri ta’ San Luċjan

Close to 450 kilograms of waste was fished out of the sea in Marsaxlokk over the weekend after a 25-strong team from National Insurance Brokers and the Coast is Clear Foundation came together to clean the coastal area around Torri ta’ San Luċjan.

The team, which included three divers, filled 36 garbage bags with ghost fishing traps, discarded fishing lines, clay pigeon discs, sacks and clothing.
