The original wooden doors of the palatial Villa Corinthia at Corinthia Palace Hotel in San Anton were thrown wide open recently to welcome Corinthia’s local corporate clients and other special guests who were hosted to a lavish gourmet evening by hotel general manager Italico Rota and his executive team.

Some 170 guests from various companies in Malta, together with a number of local and foreign dignitaries, were treated to a variety of food stalls serving a sumptuous selection of dishes at a special event held to celebrate the business successes of the past year.

Welcoming guests with his usual impromptu speech, Mr Rota said: “We are extremely happy to welcome our esteemed guests tonight to join our Corinthia family for this night of good friends, good food, and good times and we look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future for other events that mark the success of our business relationship.”

An evening of socialising and great food and drink ensued, with delicious treats prepared by the hotel’s kitchens including fresh oysters on ice, freshly prepared duck pancakes, rice with king prawns flambéed in Pernod and also a table with irresistibly tasty sweet crepes. Entertainment was provided by a lively band led by maestro Dominic Galea.
