Determined to protect his privacy, a Birżebbuġa man smashed the security camera that his neighbour had mounted outside the house, a court heard yesterday.
Joseph Callus, 52, complained when the CCTV camera was installed outside his shop, located beneath the neighbour’s residence. When the situation remained unchanged, Mr Callus parked his car underneath the CCTV camera, climbed onto the roof of his vehicle and struck the camera with a wooden plank, the court heard.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was conditionally discharged for a year.
Police inspectors Arthur Mercieca and Priscilla Caruana prosecuted.
