A man and his 17-year-old son were conditionally discharged for a year for whipping a man who had an affair with the teenager’s mother.
The man, 54, and his son admitted to trying to seriously injuring the victim by hitting him with a horse whip in Cospicua at about 6 p.m. on Sunday.
They were also charged with slightly injuring the man and assaulting him with the whip.
The woman was the long-time partner of the 54-year-old man and the mother of the teenager.
Names are not being published to protect the identity of the teenager who is a minor.
