The Malta Sports Council (KMS) has launched the Annabelle Vassallo Award for 'Most Committed Coach', which was presented for the first time during the KMS Skolasport end of season activity.

The award was presented to Karl Cortis, a third year PE student at the University. He has been coaching with KMS for three years.

KMS chairman Bernard Vassallo announced this award was inspired by Annabelle Vassallo who, although terminally ill, has made it her goal to make a difference by touching people's hearts and helping them appreciate life.

The 'Most Committed Coach' award is presented to people who have also tried to make a difference to those with whom they come into contact through KMS programmes.

KMS currently employs over 80 qualified professional coaches dedicated to providing a service in various sport disciplines and activities all year round. Programmes include athletics, swimming, football, modern dance, Pilates, aerobics and walking, among others.
