Obituaries

GALEA SOUCHET. On May 27, HENRY, aged 93, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Family and friends are invited to gather in prayer and support for his family during the funeral Mass celebrating his life, to be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, at 10am, at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema. The funeral cortège will leave St Vincent de Paul Residence prior to the service, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to RMJ Horse Rescue, in memory of Henry’s love for animals, are greatly appreciated. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

RIOLO. On May27, ROSE, aged 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will always be loved and cherished by her children Dr Josianna and her husband Dr Patrick Sammut, Dr Ivan and his wife Charlotte, Ing. Stefan and his wife Ing. Rachelle, Thea and her husband Ivan Micallef, Bernardo and his wife Rosanne and Tino and his wife Stephanie, her precious grandchildren Nicholas, Jonathan, Isaiah, Daniel, Lara, Mikela, Luca, Nina, Maria, Ana, Philippa, Giorgia, Christina, Gianni and Luigi, her siblings Sister Margarita, Victor, Louise, Lawrence, their spouses and children, friends and ex-students. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, for Gżira parish church, where Mass to celebrate her life will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta are greatly appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

SCERRI. On May 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNIE, of Rabat, widow of Paul, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters, Marisa and Silvana, and her son Edwin and his wife Doris; her granddaughters Michaela and her husband Luca and Martina and her husband John; her brothers John and Paul of Australia and her sister Mary, her in-laws Vivi, Georgina and Doris, her nephews and nieces and their families, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Friday, May 29, at 3pm, for St Dominic church, Rabat, where Mass will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margherita cemetery, Rabat. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
