Obituaries

CASSAR. On June 30, NOEL, aged 78, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will always be remembered by his wife Lydia, his children Tancred, Maria and Victoria and their partners Ruth, Robert and Nuno, his grandchildren Elena, Giorgio and Troy, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow, Friday, July 3, for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas Malta, Ħamrun, will be appreciated. May he rest in peace.

DEBONO. On June 5, GASTON, aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Forever loved and remembered by his wife MaryAnne, his children Edward and his wife Sephora, Veronica and her husband Michael, Michael SJ, his grandchildren Daniel, Emilia, Jan and Sara, siblings, in-laws, relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 4, at 10am, at St Mary’s parish church, Attard, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Puttinu Cares Foundation or the Jesuit Refugee Service, Floriana.May he rest in eternal peace.

SALIBA – MICHAEL A., who resided in Pisa, Italy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, at the age of 79. He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his dear memory his wife Angela, his daughter Marianna and her husband Simone, his granddaughters Agata and Agnese, his brother Fr John Saliba, SJ, his sister Marlene, his sister-in-law Marthese, his sister-in-law Francesca and her husband Carmelo, his nephews and nieces and their families, and other relatives and friends.May he rest in peace.

WOODS. On July 1, ELIZABETH, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Marthese Pullicino, Natalie Soler, Josianne Vella Zarb, Diane Sladden, and her brother Edward, in-laws, nephews and nieces, her many close friends and her devoted carer Mercy Castro. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow, Friday, July 3, at 8.30am, at Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

GASAN – JOE. In loving memory of our dear papà, today the 50th anniversary of his death. Remembered with fondest memories and love by his children Paula, Sylvia, Veronica and Joe, their respective spouses, grandchildren and all the family. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”. Eternal rest give unto him Oh Lord.

PACE – VICTOR. Today being the 69th anniversary of his passing to eternal life. Fondly remembered by his children Mona, Rosanne, Gloria, Massie and in-laws. Sweet Jesus, grant him eternal rest.
