These tunnels will be partially closing at night this month
Closures will take place between 10pm and 5am
Infrastructure Malta announced the partial nighttime closure of four major tunnels throughout this month.
The tunnels of Tal-Qroqq, St Julian’s, Santa Venera, and Kirkop will all be closing at different points throughout July.
During these nights, between 10pm and 5am, one tunnel will be fully closed for maintenance, while the other bore will be used as a two-way tunnel to ensure traffic flow.
In the case of Tal-Qroqq tunnels, vehicles will be directed to skatepark/ Birkirkara bypass, the roads agency said.
Tal-Qroqq Tunnels will be impacted between Monday, July 6, and Thursday, July 30. The tunnels will remain open on Fridays and weekends.
St Julian’s tunnels will be partially closed on Monday, July 6, Tuesday, July 7, Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21.
The Santa Venera tunnels will be partially shut down on July 8, July 9, July 22, and July 23.
Kirkop tunnels will be partially closed on July 15, 16, 29, and 30.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage motorists to plan their routes accordingly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” IM said.
