Birkirkara extended their lead over Valletta at the top of the Premier League to seven points this evening when they beat third-placed Qormi 3-1 at Ta' Qali.

Comvalius opened the score in the 21th minute and Trevor Cilia scored twice in the 30th and 41st minutes.

Massimo Grima scored for Qormi in the 70th minute.

Valletta, who have a game in hand, face Hibs tomorrow (Friday).
