Two hooded armed men made off with cash during a hold-up in Gżira late on Saturday.

The police said the men, at least one of whom was armed with a knife, demanded the money from a cashier at a shop in Pjazza Memè Scicluna at about 10pm.

The men ran off with the cash and no one was injured.

The police are investigating and a magisterial inquiry is underway.
