A 29-year-old woman has been charged in court with the involuntary homicide of a French national on April, 14, 2007 at 1 p.m.

Kelly Dimitri, from Marsascala, pleaded not guilty to the involuntary homicide of Jean Philippe Castellano while she was driving through Sta Margerita Street in Cospicua at 1p.m. She also pleaded not guilty to driving recklessly and at an excessive speed.

Magistrate Antonio Vella heard how Mr Castellano had been crossing the road when he was accidentally hit. He succumbed to his injuries some time later in hospital.

Police Inspector Alexander Grech prosecuted.
