Eddie Fenech Adami discharged from hospital
Former president, PM considered leading figure in Malta’s road to joining EU
Former president and prime minister Eddie Fenech Adami has been discharged from hospital, two days after he was admitted for observation when suffering health complications.
Fenech Adami, 92, served as prime minister between 1987 and 1996 and again from 1998 to 2004.
He is considered the leading figure in Malta’s road to joining the European Union.
He was appointed president in 2004, a few months after leaving parliament, serving a five-year term.
Fenech Adami is considered one of the most influential leaders in Maltese political history, serving as PN leader since 1977. His son Beppe Fenech Adami still serves as a PN MP.
