Festa Tfal in honour of St Anthony of Padua

Celebrations took place in Għajnsielem on Sunday

A Festa Tfal for children and their families was organised by the Franciscan Friars of Għajnsielem as part of the feast celebrations in honour of St Anthony of Padua. Around 200 children, accompanied by their parents and the friars of the Franciscan community, took part in a joyful procession with the statue of St Anthony from Ġnien Patri Bernard Hersey to the church.

After the procession, Fr Walter Vassallo OFM led a concelebrated mass, together with Fr Guardian Marcello Ghirlando OFM and Fr Andro Fernandez OFM.

The homily was presented in an engaging and interactive format by Fra Darren Abela OFM, who involved the children through discussion and questions about the life and virtues of St Anthony.

The celebration was further enriched by musical animation provided by Loredana and Albert-Lauren Agius. Following mass, a children’s party was held in the convent parking area, featuring a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling, Disney characters and a magic show.

Refreshments were offered to the children for free, while Buzzy Kids sponsored the rides and face painting activities. Pawlu’s Ironmongery provided the flags used for the occasion.
