Floriana to Mellieħa shuttle services for Puttinu Good Friday Night Walk

Trips will start at 8.30pm, with the last one scheduled for 10.40pm

Malta Public Transport will be operating a series of shuttle services on Thursday for those taking part in the annual Puttinu Cares Good Friday Night Walk.

The initiative will facilitate the transport of participants from Floriana to Mellieħa ahead of the overnight event, which will see participants walk back towards Floriana.

Participants will board buses from Triq Sarria in Floriana, in the vicinity of the Publiju bus stop, where a controlled boarding area will be set up. Event organisers will install a gazebo and barriers to manage queues and verify the Puttinu Cares ticket before boarding.

Ticket checks will be handled by event personnel, and not by bus drivers, in line with MPT operational procedures.

The first departures from Floriana to Mellieħa are scheduled to start at around 8.30pm, with the final trip scheduled for 10.40pm, subject to demand.

MPT said in a statement that this free service forms part of its ongoing commitment to support community initiatives and national events, while ensuring a safe and efficient experience for all participants.

Last year saw a record 10,000 people undertake the 20km walk.
