Former MSPCA rescue dogs congregate in Naxxar palazzo for animal welfare event

The event will feature a fashion show and musical performances

Next weekend will see rescue dogs formerly looked after by the MSPCA accompany their adoptive owners to the gardens of Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar for an event in aid of animal welfare.

On Sunday, June 14, the Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) will host its 'Tails in Wonderland 2026' event, featuring a fashion show and live entertainment.

The MSPCA called the occasion “a celebration of second chances, sustainability and the power of community” in a statement announcing the event.

In keeping with the theme of the night, the event will feature a ‘Reloved Fashion Show’ showcasing runway items made from second-hand clothes, curated by stylist Luke Engerer. The show will be hosted by Colin Fitz.

The fashion show “brings together two causes that are central to the MSPCA’s mission: animal welfare and sustainability,” the society said.

It “will also feature former MSPCA rescue dogs and their adopters, celebrating successful adoption stories and the life-changing impact of giving animals a forever home”.

Sunday’s event will also feature musical performances from singer Ivan Grech, vocalist and keyboard duo Thea & Lizzy, singer Sigo and a wind quartet.

Describing Sunday as a “celebration of collaboration”, the MSPCA noted that a number of other animal welfare organisations would join the event.

“Their presence highlights an important reality: meaningful progress in animal welfare is only possible when organisations, volunteers and supporters work together towards a common goal.”

MSPCA charity stores in Sliema and San Ġwann diverted more than 100 tonnes of reusable goods from landfill sites each year, the organisation noted.

“It is sustainability with a purpose. Every donated item, every purchase and every recycled garment helps provide food, shelter, veterinary care and rehabilitation for animals in need.”

The society extended its thanks to supporting organisations and those partnering with it for Sunday’s event.

A raffle will also take place at the event. Prizes include a €400 dinner voucher at Palazzo Parisio, hotel stays, restaurant vouchers, experiences and luxury gifts, the MSPCA said. Raffle tickets cost €2.

The MSPCA Tails in Wonderland 2026 event takes place at Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar on Sunday, June 14, at 4pm. The Reloved Fashion Show will take place at 7pm. Entry is free. To find out more, visit ticketline.com.mt.
