The initiative will serve as an important road map for the locality
Città Victoria, Gozo, council has commenced work on an ambitious cultural strategy for the locality following the announcement Victoria has successfully progressed to the second stage of its application to be awarded the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture 2031.
The strategy will serve as an important road map for the locality, bringing together cultural stakeholders, community organisations, artists, residents and public entities to shape a shared vision for the future.
It will identify priorities, strengthen cultural participation, celebrate the city’s rich heritage and promote sustainable cultural development in the years ahead. The official launch of the cultural strategy process will take place at the council offices at the Banca Giuratale, Victoria, on Friday, July 10, at 10am.
Meanwhile, Victoria mayor Brian Azzopardi, together with architect Edward Scerri and Savio Bugeja, recently visited the San Ġorġ area to discuss the regeneration of the public garden located within the locality.
During the site visit, the delegation assessed the current state of the garden and explored proposals aimed at transforming the space into a more attractive, accessible and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
The proposed regeneration forms part of the local council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public open spaces, improving the quality of life within the community and preserving the unique character of Victoria.
