Tourist arrivals last month numbered 115,105, an increase of 11.3 per cent over the same month last year.

Excluding passengers who stayed overnight on board their berthed cruise ship, total arrivals amounted to 113,042, the National Statistics Office said.

A total of 91,188 tourists came on holiday, 13,025 on business.

Arrivals from EU states went up by 9.5 per cent to 95,835. Total nights spent in Malta went up by 7.7 per cent, amounting to 838,984 nights.

Total tourist expenditure was estimated at €90.1 million, an increase of 12.2 per cent.

Arrivals from January to November amounted to 1,718,853, an increase of 5.9 per cent over the same period last year.
