In spite of the fact that Aloysians have already been crowned champions, both La Salle and University tried their best to collect the three points from this encounter.

At the end, it resulted in a comfortable win for Alan Grima's La Salle.

They made a very good start to lead 5-1. University hit back and were close to equalise when trailing 9-7. However, by half-time, La Salle had increased their lead to 13-9.

The start of the second period saw La Salle turning the heat on their opponents to power 18-11 ahead. Once again, Ronald Zammit's University side tried to get back into the game but found their opponents ready to take full advantage of the slightest mistake.

With La Salle leading 20-16, one expected University to mount a bold attempt to save the game. But, on the contrary, La Salle piled up the pressure to move 26-17 ahead. The final minutes of the game were a formality as La Salle had already wrapped up the issue.

Renzo Kerr Cumbo was La Salle's top scorer with seven goals.
