PitBull – I’m Back with special guest Lil Jon

US rapper Pitbull, also known as Mr Worldwide, is performing at Ta’ Qali National Park on August 2. 

The Grammy award-winning artist is known for such hits as I Know You Want Me and Give Me Everything.

He will be joined by special guest Lil Jon, another Grammy award-winning artist known for the hit Bia Bia, among others.

Opera vs Pop Under the Stars

The Gozo Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Joseph Grech, will present an evening of operatic arias and pop arrangements at the Gozo Ministry courtyard, Victoria, on July 30 at 7.30pm.

The performance will feature operatic arias alongside elegant orchestral arrangements of well-known pop repertoire, highlighting the versatility and expressive range of the ensemble.

Soprano Pamela Cibrano, pop tenor Ludwig Galea and bass Noel Galea will be joined by guest singers Rachel Fabri and Fabian Galea for the occasion.

MPO End of Season Concert: Brahms & Sibelius

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conducting masterclass participants mentored by Sergey Smbatyan, will perform works by Johannes Brahms and Jean Sibelius besides works by Carl Maria von Weber and Gustav Mahler at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta, on July 31 at 7.30pm.

The programme features Brahms’s Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98, Sibelius’s Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 with soloist Alexandra Tirsu, von Weber’s Oberon Overture, and Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony No. 5.

Ħamiema Bajda

As part of the JP2 Memorial Festival 2026, the JP2 Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with Missio Malta (Gozo Office), will present the Ħamiema Bajda (The White Dove) charity concert on July 30, at 8.30pm in an open-air venue beside Savina church, St Mary Street, Victoria.

The concert will feature renowned Gozitan singer Mario Caruana, accompanied by his daughter, soprano Maria Aquilina Caruana.

Proceeds will go towards the Church’s missionary work in Tanzania. The event is supported by the Victoria local council.

L-Għanja tal-Poplu

Sixteen songs are taking part in the final of the 50th edition of the Maltese song contest, taking place at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta, on August 1.

The participating singers are Danica Muscat, David Joseph Sammut, Ishmael Grech, Mark Tonna and Leontine, Justine Bezzina, Francesca Sciberras, Kelsey Carabott, Kapitlu Tlettax and Reanue Falzon, Mark Spiteri Lucas, Cherylis, Maria Mallia, Nicole Hammett,  Lon Kirkop and Mark Cachia, Walter Micallef and Josephine Marie Grima.

Robin Schulz at Café del Mar

German musician, deejay and record producer Robin Schulz is returning to Café del Mar, St Paul’s Bay, on July 31.

THEATRE

Hamlet

MADC is staging Hamlet for its annual summer Shakespeare appointment until July 27.

This year, Michael Mangion’s adaptation is taking place at the Msida Bastion Historic Garden in Floriana.

The cast includes Alex Weenink as Hamlet, Maya Micallef Engerer as Ophelia and Stephen Oliver as the King.

The show is suitable for an audience aged 12+. Tickets from madc.com.mt.

Għaliex?

A participatory performance on gender-based violence continues its run in various venues in Malta and Gozo until July 31.

The performance, directed by Lee N-Abela, is based on the drama Għaliex jien? by Vincent Vella. This week, it is being held at Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School, Victoria, on July 30 and at the Mosta community hall on July 31.

Both shows start at 7pm and entrance is free.

The event is supported by the Commissioner on Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence through the programme ‘Together We Empower’.

FILM

Cinema Under the Stars

FAA’s annual Cinema Under the Stars will present the acclaimed 2021 Maltese film Carmen, starring Natascha McElhone, in the grounds of Villa Bologna, Attard, on July 29 at 7.30pm.

Written and directed by Valerie Buhagiar, the film is shot entirely in Malta and is inspired by true events. It follows a 50-year-old Maltese woman who, after a lifetime of servitude, discovers independence and romance.

The English-language version of the film will be shown. It is certified 12A.

Food will be served but must be pre-booked when purchasing tickets. Drinks will be available to purchase throughout the evening.

Farsons Beer Festival

The 44th edition of the Farsons Beer Festival runs at the Ta’ Qali National Park until August 1.

As in previous years, the festival features plenty of local and imported beers and a packed live music programme on different stages.

Eco Festival 2026 – Part 3

The Eco Festival, organised by Eco Market Malta, continues at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, in Valletta, between July 29 and August 1.

Visitors can explore a curated selection of unique, handmade souvenirs including artisanal jewellery, home décor, natural beauty products, and eco-fashion – all plastic-free, organic and crafted using ethical, low-impact materials.

Beyond shopping, the festival will also offer fun, family-friendly eco activities that inspire greener living.
