Some of Malta's up-and-coming rugby players will head to Sicily tomorrow to pit their wits against the leaders of the Sicilian rugby youth league.

The Falcons Under-13 and Under-15 squads will play their second away match against Amatori Catania, a professional club with ambitions of competing in the top Italian league.

The Maltese boys train every Wednesday and Friday evening at Marsa. The Falcons youngsters lost to Amatori in their first 'away' assignment last year and coach Robert Portelli is hoping for a better result this weekend.

"The teams have been working very hard and their commitment to improve is impressive," Portelli said.

Fabian Sacco, a member of the U-15 squad, said: "We all love the game and obviously want to do well for Malta. I'd love to play for the senior national team one day... that is my dream."

The squads are made up of boys from different schools across Malta. In 2006, the Falcons U-12 team won the first ever full contact match played by Maltese boys and the U-13 and U-15s claimed the honours in their respective league and 7's Cup.
