Michael Bublé leaves Malta feeling good

Michael Bublé proved on Wednesday night why he remains one of the world's most accomplished live entertainers, delivering a polished, charismatic performance at Ta' Qali that effortlessly balanced big-band swagger with intimate storytelling.

Opening with the unmistakable classic Feeling Good, Bublé immediately had the audience in the palm of his hand. Backed by a superb orchestra, he moved seamlessly between his own hits and the timeless standards that have become his trademark.

It didn't take long for the audience to get on its feet shortly after a fan held a placard saying 'Can I get a hug?', which the Canadian singer acceded to. 

His original songs Home and It's a Beautiful Day were among the most popular of the evening, with thousands of fans happily supplying the choruses from an audienced that spanned three generations.

Bublé's ability to breathe fresh life into classic repertoire, and sometimes with a touch of Latin flair, from You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You to L.O.V.E. injected warmth to a remarkably cool summer evening at Ta' Qali. 

The singer is known to connect with his audience and Wednesday's concert didn't disappoint - at one point he urged the audience to sing Happy Birthday to young fan Samuel, who was in the front row with his mother celebrating his eight birthday. 

His Elvis Presley medley led to the finale Cry Me a River. And after 90 minutes of impeccable music, impeccable voice control and humour,  Bublé told the audience: "I hope you'll have us back a thousands times", to loud cheers.

Maltese act The New Victorians supported Bublé during the concert organised by Greatt and NnG.

Thousands attended the event on Wednesday.
