Paraglider injured at Dingli Cliffs

21-year-old lifted to safety by CPD rescue team and rushed to Mater Dei Hospital

A paraglider who fell at cliffs in Dingli had to be rescued by the Civil Protection Department and rushed to hospital on Friday evening.

Police were called to Dingli at around 6.30pm after reports of a person injured at Irdum tal-Iħfar on Triq Panoramika.

There they found a 21-year-old Czech woman who had fallen while paragliding.

A Civil Protection Department rescue team was called to the site and worked to lift the woman to safety. A medical team then rushed her to Mater Dei Hospital, where she is being treated for grievous injuries.

A police investigation is under way.
