Pierre Galea elected Malta Development Association acting general secretary
Paul Attard resigned last month
Pierre Galea has been elected acting general secretary of the Malta Development Association, following Paul Attard's resignation last month.
The association said in a statement its council had nominated, seconded and unanimously approved Galea, who previously occupied the role of assistant general secretary.
Galea is one of the founding members of the MDA and served as the association’s first secretary general when it was established in 2010.
Reacting to the appointment, Galea said that throughout his tenure with the MDA, he has collaborated closely with various presidents and colleagues, always guided by a clear vision.
His efforts have focused on strengthening the organisation’s role and ensuring that it continues to effectively represent and advocate for the interests of the industry.
Galea will serve in the role until the upcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 21.

Paul Attard, the Malta Development Association’s general secretary and council members Anton Camilleri, known as Tal-Franċiż and Pio Vassallo all stepped down.
Last month, Attard and council members Anton Camilleri, known as Tal-Franċiż and Pio Vassallo stepped down from their roles.
On March 30, Times of Malta reported that Camilleri and Vassallo were among the bidders for an affordable housing scheme that the MDA claims is unlawful state aid.
