Opposition set to launch podcast as billboard appears in Msida

The podcast is to be hosted by two young women and will not follow a particular theme.

The Opposition Nationalist Party is set to launch a long-awaited podcast, with a billboard near the Msida skatepark signalling its imminent release.

On Thursday, a billboard reading “Min-nies għan- nies: ” appeared in the area. The phrase translates to “from the people, for the people”.

The party confirmed that the billboard forms part of a campaign promoting its new podcast, which is expected to begin in the coming days. However, no launch date has been announced as of yet.

A spokesperson said the podcast will be hosted by two young women, without providing further details. They also noted that the podcast will not follow a specific theme.

The initiative was first announced during Alex Borg’s leadership campaign, when he pledged to introduce a podcast as part of efforts to reach younger audiences.

The party later launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the project, raising €15,000 and briefly crashed their online system because it could not keep up with all the donations.

The Labour Party made a similar move when it recently launched its own podcast, Isma Dean, hosted by lawyer and activist Dean Hili.

The first episode, released in March, featured the Prime Minister’s wife, Lydia Abela, as a guest. Subsequent episodes have included broadcaster John Bundy and personality Jeremy Camilleri.
