Qui Si Sana beach is safe for swimming again

Authorities say sampling indicates sea at Sliema beach is fit for bathing

Sliema’s Qui Si Sana Sana beach is safe for swimming once again, health authorities said on Saturday.

The Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health said that it was lifting a health warning concerning the bay.

Qui Si Sana beach was closed to swimmers earlier this month following a sewage leak that rendered the sea there unsafe for swimming. It was the latest in a spate of sewage-related beach closures.

In an announcement on Saturday, authorities said repeated sampling of seawater from the bathing site indicates it is now fit for bathing.

Information about bathing water quality at different beaches across Malta and Gozo can be found on the directorate’s bathing water portal.
