Rehabilitation of Fleur-de-Lys primary school completed
€2m project gives new life to 60-year-old building
A €2 million rehabilitation project at Adrian Borg primary school in Fleur-de-Lys Birkirkara was formally completed on Wednesday with a visit by the prime minister.
The school was built some 60 years ago and has been refurbished as part of the EDU Infrastructure Programme. The works included the building of new classrooms, a hall and recreational areas and the installation of new technology and energy-saving equipment.
Prime Minister Robert Abela met the teachers and pupils and underlined the government's commitment to provide modern schools and facilities and to ensure that children had all possible opportunities to learn. He noted that teachers had been given improved pay while more students were being handed laptops.

Works are also underway on the rehabilitation of another school in Birkirkara - Anthony Valletta Primary in Brared Street - housed in a building which will soon be 100 years old. The project is expected to take at least two years.
