Two Lesa officers were injured, one seriously, when their car hit a barrier near Paola on Tuesday afternoon.

The police said the accident happened at Vjal Santa Luċija. Both female officers were taken to hospital. The driver, 51, suffered slight injuries while the other officer, 52, who was a passenger, was more seriously hurt.

The police are investigating.
