Wall collapses onto pavement after being hit by light truck
The accident happened at a building site in Xemxija
A wall collapsed onto a pavement in Xemxija when it was hit by a light truck on Sunday.
The accident happened at about 2.30pm on Xemxija hill when the wall, bordering a building site, was hit by a Toyota Toyace that was carrying machinery.
No one was injured.
The Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the Building Construction Authority said their officials were quickly on site and the collapsed material was removed.
"Although no imminent danger was identified, the Authorities also confirm that they have issued an order for all works on the site to cease immediately, with the exception of remedial works, as a precautionary measure. These include works on the wall separating the site from neighbouring third-party properties," the two authorities said.
