All criminal and civil allegations brought against Exante and its directors have been dropped, the company said in a statement today.

The allegations had led to the temporary freezing of Exante’s accounts.

Exante said today its accounts were now fully operational as the company was seeking to recover from what it considered were sensationalised allegations.

"We were sure from the outset we would be cleared of all wrong doing. We have been very transparent with the MFSA, our regulatory body, and were able to provide all documentation to all parties. This proved the company's innocence on these matters,” communication director Patrick J O Brien said.

Exante firmly believes that a lack of understanding on its business model was the main reason for the allegations.

It said it was still shocked and dismayed that no communication was made with it before the allegations made the news.
