Two men, one of them Maltese, are planning to walk the 4,000-mile route that used to be followed by the templars across Europe to the Middle East.
David Delia, 20 of Mosta, and Max Evenbly, who linked up when playing for a band, expect their journey to take six months.
Their purpose, Mr Delia said, was adventure, since they will be trekking across some of the most isolated places in Europe, particularly in the heart of Turkey.
